Didn't see a post about it here, no one is excited about opening day at Hollywood park? Hollywood park seems to be buzzing with excitement

I mean what's there not to like! Low fields, high take out, bad racing this time of the year.

The only time I play Hollywood is on Friday nights, and then only a skimpy early P4. Gotta get my weekly serving of Vic Stauffer, who is probably my favorite announcer.

I found plenty of plays there today, and honestly I get a little excited on opening day of any track.

and low fields, really? did you look at the card?
today they have 7-8-8-9-12-9-8-9 horse fields across the card.

I find that hard to believe. After all, Mr. Brackpool said, “We offer in California the premier racing product on a year-round basis”!

As long as Keith Brackpool is the head of the CHRB and as long as Jack Owens is is part of the TOC this trend will continue.

The really sad part is that Horseplayers are the only ones with the balls to stand up to them.

Screw Them!

$39k carryover in the P6 for tomorrow. There is simply too much exotics on the menus at some of these tracks.

$4.27 million wagered (didn't have access to Q pools, so they weren't included).

Horseplayers can't keep fighting they're fights for them. If they want a shot at success then they have to stand up and fight guys like Brackpool and Owens.

Why would you let punks like this run your business?

Excerpt:

People who say that nothing's harder to get rid of than a bad penny must never have met Keith Brackpool.

$39k carryover in the P6 for tomorrow.
The carryover at Golden Gate, helped along by a $92 winner in the sequence, is now up to $335K, more than 8 times the size that of HOL, for those of you that like to swing for the fences. Even those that usually do not play GG might be tempted to take a look at that big pot.

Agree Gotta say one of my favorite moments in this game was listening to his call during the earthquake. One of the most heart felt and touching moments i have had in this game.

The first two races are impossible to bet in my opinion....
Will use the 1 in the 1st two races as singles in the Pick Five, then spread in the other 3 races.

7th race is a pretty good little non graded stake race

I'm in, chasing after gettin smoked at aqua today. I like the 5th and 6th. 7th is ok but too small of a field. But as a chaser Ill find something starting in the 1st.

I also enjoy Vics calls, he tells me if a horse is alive or dead during his calls, no false allusions.

That could be the worst idea I've ever heard.

On the incredibly off chance I said anything. I was thinking something like.

" And Martin Garcia chokes back his chickenhead saving everything for a huge stretch eruption"

Anyone think I should try that one?

I love the night racing at Hollywood. I work Fridays now, so I can't make the night card anymore, unfortunately.

There is no need for there to be a pick 5 and a pick 4 on the same menu in back to back races early in the card.

Both handle pretty well. Just make believe there's only 1. Pick the one you like and fire! :bang:

Why not wait till you see a horse in the lead, but weaving in and out in the stretch, and then say he's running like a chicken with his head cut off.

This thread is been good for a couple of laughs. As for Hollywood I need more time to recover from a "blood Bath" at Bleeder's cup. I can't even stomach watching a horse race at the moment.

I had the 10 in an NHC qualifier I was in as well. At least I can cross that off of my list of ways to lose!

That's happened to me at least 5 times in my life. I didn't know who to use in the 6th so I singled the 5 in my P6 so that's kind of a relief but it did cost me the P3 and P4 a few times. I started the late P4 and a P3 with the #1 but I used the #5 a lot more times. I didn't know who the hell to use in that race so I went with the sprinter stretching out in most of my tickets.
