Not sure if anyone can help with this query, but I'm looking for a one calendar year snapshot of the number of 2YO first time starters that never race again vs. the number that race 2 or more times, binned by race distance of that first race.
The larger the population the better. (Doing separately for 3YO first time starters would also be of great interest)
Example:
2F 89 2YOFTStarters 54 FTSTarters that raced back, 60.6%
4F 112 FTS 67 FTS2 59%
1 1/16 etc.
I ask because I'm interested in what the "average" attrition rate is, so I can compare how a particular trainer does compared to the "average".
