In Chicago any bet under $500 can be cancelled by a teller(you cannot cancel any bet without a teller). Any bet over $500 needs a manager to get it done, and they are not very fast at doing it, I would guess to discourage the practice.

I wish there was a way to cancel them online......

several times after placing a bet.....the horse runs off or whatever and they put him back in the gate....I have wanted to cancel.

No shit.. I have used 675bets.com to wager and their trifecta code is '31'..3 different occasions, I accidentally hit a $31 trifecta...

And of course not one of them hit :-)

Back when YouBet was a Ladbroke (now XpressBet) only venture, I was able to call on the phone and cancel bets I had placed online. I've never tried it now that I am using Total Access, but I know Total Access DOES have phone wagering, so I am sure you could get an operator to cancel your bets.....

I have cancelled bets with Philly (PhoneBet)...call the regular number and ask for a supervisor. They respond pretty quickly.

Also, at e-Horse I have called customer service and cancelled bets. 1-800-416-2838 a little slow sometimes.

Regarding cancelling bets at tracks/simulcast sites in Calif.

You can cancel any bet with a mutuel clerk. You can cancel bets for $50 or less at a SAM terminal....$100 or less at some places.

Its why I don't like betting horses online. I cancel bets fairly frequently and I find the last impression, not the first, is usually the best.
