Really? I can think of at least five horses from the Vosburgh I'd take over him.

50 Thousand to Show- Gone- Who are these guys ? . Take that 50 thousand and bet 60 dollars to win on the last 2 shots on the board on the South Cal. circuit. Kayla Stra just brought a 100 dollar horse in. Again - They will be up 20 percent by the end of the year - Who are these geniuses ? Now, I guess, we will never know. They just took a leap from The Golden Gate- Splaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssshhhhhhhhhhh !

About 2/5ths too fast to the 1/4 and the 1/2 for that final time. I wouldn't say it is an excuse for that complete collapse.

So to get excused he would have to go 20.2?

Garcia (he was on him right?) could have throttled him a little more but that is gonna happen with these speed ball sprinters from time to time.

Getting in an early crazy speed duel with a comebacking outclassed 45-1 shot sure did not help. The race completely fell apart, with the runners 1st, 2nd, and 3rd early finishing 4th, 5th, and 6th and last. However, do have to wonder why The Factor regressed so badly. After that sensational comebacker Baffert gave him six weeks off and he had worked well. Old problems flaring up again? In the BC Sprint he again would face intense early pace pressure, only this time it will be from much better in form horses, so his chances do appear to be pretty shaky. The one turn BC Mile and its perhaps kinder early pace scenario has been mentioned, but who would he meet there, Uncle Mo perhaps, or is Mo committed to the Classic?

On that track, maybe. It is a paved highway. Raw times mean little with putting them in context of the track on which they were run.

I'm not saying it isn't an excuse, just not one for completely throwing in the towel at the top of the lane.

This field was weaker than the last one but you could tell he was in deep trouble at the top of the stretch. So it's hard to come away as anything but disappointed. However, the pace was fast, the other speeds backed up even worse (albeit as long shots), the track was not particularly friendly to early speed, and maybe the inside path wasn't quite as good as it usually is (I want to watch the replays). All in all I don't think you can write him off totally, but he certainly didn't step forward.

people who think that is a speed duel have not watched the factor run in sprints. that horse has gears other horses just don't have. that's about what he is going to run every race

You think he will have an easier pace set in the BC Sprint?

I can't help wondering why The Factor was battling it out up front with a 35/1 shot. That definitely should not be his running style. Bad ride I think. He was worn out turning for home.

toussaud

that was not a bad ride at all considering the horse.

the factor is a speedball. that's what he does. they are going to dance with the girl that brought them to the prom so to speak. they will win alot, and lose some. he just was off today.

this race was no different than the race he held on to beat sway away in the San Felipe (i think that's the race)

Sure you will, nice call. I also get props because I said this exact post would bring you back before the next race was official.
