TVG host suggesting that Med and No Cal Beyers are too high and he is deducting 5-10 points from figs earned at either track.
Anyone that uses Beyers notice this? Could be interesting angle for a few weeks if it is true. Will have to check this out.

That is interesting Tom...as for me I always have thought Philly Park Beyers are too high. I don't play the track but occasionally tracks where they ship in.

Isn't this possible because the DRF uses different people to calculate their figs on each circuit? Most certainly all the people responsible for the Beyers are not of equal ability. I remember last year (I forget what track) where the figs from a certain track were too LOW, and I made out pretty good when shippers came from that track.

12:45pm....Andy Beyer emailed a reply to the question raised by Cory Nakatani about high Beyers...they will read it in a few minutes on TVG.

With the too high Beyers, I haven't seen it as much at the Meadowlands, but NoCal turf races are always way too high when they ship. I think the NoCal dirt races are OK...He said he moved then down a point or two, but that is insignificant to me. On the turf, I'm talking at least 5 points too high.

Tom,

As Maxwell Smart, Agent 86 used to say ..."Missed it by THAT MUCH!"

Aqueduct inner dirt numbers are way too high, IMO. You'll see horses put up 95s and 105s that can't hit 80 at other tracks.

Wild guessing about adjustments should make for interesting handicapping!!LOL!!

This theory may get tested today at Hollywood. In the 8th race there, a horse named Menuhin ships in from NoCal with the top Beyer (101) in its last race. The horse did win by 5 and did beat two heavily bet Del Mar ship-ins to accomplish it. If the horse flops, we may have a little evidence that there could be some truth to what the TVG guy was talking about.

It is only one race but Menuhin ran like crap so just a little more evidence that maybe the TVG guy was right.

Or he "bounced"...

Or, the most important thing in my opinion, the horse was running a full furlong longer on Sunday...huge difference between 8 and 9 furlongs. You can get a lot of nice prices tossing horses with the top last figure but at distances different from today of a furlong or greater.

I saw the 101 BSF & didn't know quite what to think.

Looking at the fig that Thorograph gave him for the last race(2) off a 12 in the previous race I thought he would regress off that last race. His previous top was a 7 1/2 - moving to a 2 is a big move no?

Now back BSF's. His previous top on the dirt was 84, whether the 101 is "real" or not really shouldn't matter. Half that gap would point to a potential poor race imo.

I didn't use Menuhim anywhere in my wagering, but that didn't stop me from screwing up my pick 4 bigtime. I played a cheap pick 6 ticket that looks good from a contenders viewpoint, but also was a big loser. I'll scrounge around in my losing ticket pile & make an attempt to post my losing Pick 4 & Pick 6 tix, which were truly a example of wagering stupidity

This is much quicker than trying to become totally computer - literate in one evening :) :)

Why I don't play multiple race wagers. I tend to pick contenders - not exactly winners & go from there. Me thinks I will try & remedy this for the upcoming year.

Here are the wagers I placed

$1 PK4W
6,9
5,7
3
4,6

$1 PK4W
5
2
3,4,8,11,14
6,7

$2 PK6W
1
4,7
5,11
2
8,11
6

Oh what might have been if I hadn't left my brain at home before I left for the otb.

Still didn't have the 8 in the last race.:) :) :) :) :)
