The other stuff happening is that they remixed the surface to the right specifications and it's slower but just right according to everyone I've talked to.

In August Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, and Del Mar asked for a takeout reduction on the two horse bets. We recommended a significantly lower takeout on rolling Daily Doubles and a reduction on the exactas. They asked for a 15.43% takeout DD along with a 1 point reduction on exactas. They were rebuffed by the TOC. Attached is a letter from Santa Anita and Hollywood Park asking for the reduction.

The TOC is on the verge of being decertified and that is good news for Horseplayers. The CTHA will be much more fan friendly.
