It was hard not to envision JL letting all the speed go crazy and when he had dropped him back and found a spot with Tureallure in the back it was a thing of beauty. The frmr claimer screwed the pace for CC up completely and when JL took TL out at the 1\8th pole $ Congrats.

He's appropriately named. At one point in the stretch I thought he was going to get swallowed by the whole field. Then he battled game to hold the place.

I noticed that the time for the Woodbine mile was just a little faster than the 2 yr old filly race yesterday. Where the rail was set at 15 feet yesterday, anybody no if they ran on hedge or what today? Chart has no note of rail location.

If there in no notation I doubt the rail was moved, had to be on the hedge. Seeing it is the biggest day of the year on the lawn, I'm sure they raced on the inside.

If you look at the Trakus data on the Woodbine web site, it appears that the race was shorter than the 2 yr old race. I don't know what peak mph is, but the 2 yr old girls were faster than the older boys. The measuring away from rail must include distance of hedge?

The rail was out yesterday to protect the inside for today, but with that in mind the gate location should have adjusted so the distance run should be the same. The winner of the Summer had an inside trip yesterday, of course Turallure swung out wide late, so there could be a little difference there.

Edit:
So Turallure ran 8.1F
Finale (Summer S) ran 8.14F according to the trackus charts

I wonder if the run up distance is include in the distance/time results

Good call Tom.

I couldn't pull the trigger and just watched.
However, I have come to realize that when Charlie Lopresti gets one in form it tends to stay in form for awhile...see Here Comes Ben and Successful Dan from 2010.
