Woodbine racing is great this season. They have good races, jocks, trainers, prices. What do you think?

Best track running. It is my main track nowadays - seldom look at NYRA anymore unless there is a big stake race.

You got me looking at my wagering records and right now Woodbine is one of my big positives. It has good fields, good colony, excellent condition book with great pots and trainers that keep their stock formful. It is a great track.

I bet woodbine regularly, especially in the spring/summer. Usually start the day with something at woodbine then mosey on over to santa anita/hollywood/del mar.

And it will only get better, they are sinking a pile of money into the facility with a new hotel that over looks the track, 5 new restaurants are being added with some other surprises in the future. I read an article in the summer that stated they are having a record year as far as handle goes, mostly from south of the border, they just wish they could get their on-track attendance up. They promote the sh*t out of the place on local TV and billboards and such, the future looks bright for Woodbine. I guess all the Blue-Hairs dropping money into the slot machine's 24 hours a day is paying off.....

they just do it right. like on Wednesdays not starting the card until 5:30 CST. I love that. gives me something to look forward to on Wednesdays especially because in the spring/summer/fall outside of del mar socal doesn't run on Wednesdays.

the quality of racing is very solid, the whole post parade thing i gripe about all the time they do very well, just about as well as anyone (though when it's 2 MTP you better have your wager in, when they say 1MTP they aren't playing around)

Absolutely love their turf course.

I'm not a fan of Woodbine racing. I haven't bet there for a long time. If I'm going to play an artificial surface track, I'll take Turfway Park or Presque Isle Downs any day over WO. My methods for some reason just don't work at WO (same with some other Canadian or American racetracks). So I stick with tracks where the results are better.

I don't like the management at WO, especially the HPI section, where the dictators there are telling American and overseas ADWS, that if they want to carry the Woodbine/Mohawk races, that they can't accept Canadian residents. Seems suspicious like WEG is trying to have some sort of monopoly in that area. I hope someone challenges them in court over that and wins!

And of course I teach horseplayers to stay away from slot machines and other casino games. Don't be a sucker. Regular players of those long-term negative expectation games are going to lose, because of the house advantage on every bet. Take my advice and stay away from them. Just bet on horse races instead.

I love it when I read in the newspapers that another casino has gone bankrupt. And believe it or not, that is what has happened in the last year or two. Do a Google search and read all about it.

When i watch other tracks on the net i realize how good the production is at Woodbine, it is very horseplayer friendly. If you tune in early enough you get to see the saddling area as well as the warm-up ring to do your physical handicapping, if your into that. The whole production of the race itself is second to none in my opinion, from the live tote to the locator of the horses on the track with the split screens and replays from different angles, they don't miss a beat. They have great analysts that are actual handicappers and do a great job of breaking down a race, sometimes to good! My only gripe is that it isn't in HD, the big stakes races are in HD but i guess it costs to much to do everyday.

To each his own, i like the facility and the racing, it's pretty much all i play. I have never had a problem with HPI other than i wish they would pick-up races from England.
I have never ventured into the Casino, it's not my bag, but there is a steady stream of people going in there every time i walk by, and if it helps inject money into the racing i'm all for it.
Your Oilers are starting to look very good, in a year or two your going to have a hell of a team. I wish Burkie hadn't of botched up are draft picks, you guys got some real gems.

Woodbine has nice racing and good information for bettors but I don't like the late money flows, and the takeout rate is very high.

Agree with the majority view. The fields are big and competitive. The level of the horses is decent. The surface is fair and consistent. The quality of the jockey's and trainers is good as well. I like watching their overall coverage, not just of the races.

A good product

There is no turf racing tonight but there is the King Corrie stake which features the return of Hollywood Hit.

Looks like General Brock was hustled in the race just to make it go with a field of 5.
