I got a tweet this morning that he worked 3f yesterday. Best of 5 that doesn't show in PPs.

There I was thinkin you were writing about the lady from NJ who does infomercials on tv to sell her wares.......until I looked at today's PPs.

Let's hope he turns out to be a good one......

Let's hope he's a good enough one that takes lots of money at an opportune time.

Came in 7th but only beaten by 4 1/2 lengths. Saved ground throughout, was behind a wall turning for home, switched outside and wasn't asked to do too much. A nice learning experience race.

And no, before I get jumped on, I'm not suggesting he's anything to get excited about. Tagg said he wasn't sure if he was mentally ready, so I'm sure he gave instructions to Lezcano to just go out there and get one under his belt.

Went out on the front end for his 2nd race and held well for the place.

He did better than hold on. When passed, jockey urged and was getting to winner. Like him at longer distance.

3rd time out today in the 7th at GP. 3/1 ML fave, weekly workouts like clockwork, should be primed.

You would think Tagg might try a full sibling of a Derby winner on the dirt at some point.

Nicanor and Lentenor each tried dirt four times without winning; their modest successes came on grass. Chances are that the switch wouldn't be any kinder to Margano.

Maybe not, but I'd try. I don't remember which one of the above it was, but I actually think his races on dirt were better.

Lentenor has only raced on dirt twice. One was an off-the-turf allowance at Parx. The other was a 4th place finish in Ice Box's Floriday Derby. First Dude and Game On Dude finished behind him.

His other main track starts were at Keeneland.

Nicanor faced good horses in his dirt starts. Warrior's Reward was the winner of his debut and he ran second to Custom For Carlos in his next out. Birdrun was an also-ran in another maiden where Nicanor ran 2nd.

“He was big and heavy. It took a long time to get him fit. He never did anything wrong, but I can’t say he showed ability right off the bat, because he didn’t,” Tagg said. “But we had a lot of hope for him, and he came around nicely.”

Agree.

And you wouldn't think the Jacksons would keep breeding that mare back to Dynaformer over and over again at $150k a pop if they weren't hoping for lightning to strike twice.

As I'm sure you know, Barbaro didn't move over to dirt till he won 3 times on grass.

Possible, but I've never heard that stated.

li'm pretty sure i read it somewhere before. plus it jst makes sense. they have their own broodmare band and they would like to have a full sister to barabaro added to the broodmare band eventually. even if you take out barbaro, the match up has produced some pretty decent horses.

la ville rouge has just has the worst string of luck having nothing but sons. like 4-5 in a row

I figured that you had spoken to the owners.

Hopefully they'll get the pronunciation of his name correct in the next race.. according to the Jacksons, it should be pronounced MARgano, rhymes with BARbaro. The announcers so far have been pronouncing it MarGANO, just as the announcer of Barbaro's first race called him BarBARO.

They'll probably get one with next year's mating.... she slated to go to Bernardini in 2012. Ironic mating that will be.

Possible, but I've never heard that stated. When La Ville Rouge miscarried in 2010, the Jacksons said in a press release that the loss was "particularly sad" to them because she was carrying a filly.
