Keeneland Opens with Fall Stars Weekend and a Lower Takeout
The picturesque Keeneland Fall Meet begins Friday, one day earlier than previously scheduled, and continues through October 27. A lower takeout of 16 percent, the lowest in the country, will be offered on all exotic wagers. Keeneland has followed the example of Saratoga, which reduced takeouts and enjoyed record handle this year.
This fall, Keeneland will also coordinate post times with Belmont Park. The Pick 6 has been replaced with a Pick 5 on races 4 through 8. Simulcasting from Belmont, Santa Anita and Arlington Park will be available as well as simulcasting on Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1) from Longchamp.
