E. got involved in another Forum discussion and thought of your picks and worked out the following that may interest you.

To establish 95% confidence in horses that ran in the 1-1 odds range and returned 10% profit, you must show that performance in 383 picks.

Since 1-1 horses represent but 6% of all the horses that run, you will have to look at 6793 horses. Since there is but one 1-1 horse per race, you will have to look at 6793 races.
If you did 10 races a day that would be 679 days of racing.
