Looks like a very good race to handicap.
Going to sit down and look at it now.

Any opinions?
Is it on TVG?

Not sure but i am watching La Downs on drf.com. Opened up another window with Presque Isle. Also watching track feeds from Hoosier and Parx through fullcardreports too. cant complain :)

Malibu Glow is a lightly raced horse who appears to be coming into his own.
It appears that Mike Smith should be able to place Malibu Glow in a ground saving position and get first run on the closers.

Looking for a solid 5-1 or better mutual with Malibu Glow while getting up in the shadow of the wire.

Alternation second off the layoff, but don't see much value in the race.

:5: 8/5 Prayer For Relief
:1: 9/2 Meistersinger
:3: 9/2 Malibu Glow
:6: 7/1 Alternation
:9: 8/1 Awesome Bet

:3: & :9: at the moment look like the only plays, both at decent prices (8/1 & 14/1)

I hate betting short prices in a race like this but it's hard to see beyond 1-5-6.

Maybe there's some value in the 9. He'll need to sit closer to the place, though, and I don't know how that will affect his late speed.

Good luck to our own TravisVox (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/member.php?u=1125) as he prepares to call the Super Derby in a minute or two...

Travis summed up the race when he called the half "in a ridiculous 50 & 1"

The half in .50 , that about clinched it in my eyes. rbj

Real tough beat; hammered the Relief for Prayer-Populist Politics exacta. Swear it looked like a lock but somehow, in the final yards, Awesome Bet surged between horses to (apparently) edge Populist Politics.

Huge race for Populist Politics, who took the worst of the crawlfest pace, then made a giant move real wide on the far turn. He deserved a better fate than 3rd; IMO, he was much more impressive than the winner.

I thought the 4 took the place photo, fwiw.

I was just shocked that it was even close. I bet the 4 had 3/4 of a length on Awesome Bet with less than 20 yards to run.

IMO, Melancon has now cost Populist Politics wins in his last two races with bad rides. I would be shocked if he rides this horse next time out. Amoss has never been shy to criticize riders.
