Are most of the OTB laptop friendly. I would like to spend the day at the OTB in Lancaster Ca. I have tried calling all week to ask them on there rules on laptop's and I only get a recording. I do not want to make the drive and find out they do not allow laptops, then I will just hang out at the hotel and play. Thanks Chris

I don't think you'll find a problem with you having a laptop. They may or may not have wifi and certainly won't want you placing bets online via Twinspires, Xpressbet, a rebate shop, etc...
It's moreso the casinos that have strict restrictions on laptops and some racebooks are allowing them.

Thanks TB: I drove there and they do not allow laptops. Lancaster Ca sure has a really nice OTB. I will cap tonight and bring my ammo tomorrow. Chris

Interesting! Good to know if I ever go to California; somewhat surprising, but guess they want all the handle to go through the OTB and not betting online.

Santa Rosa, Ca. has a special room with all kinds of plugins for Laptops, but you can't be connected to the Internet.

My local race track has Wi Fi in its simulcast center/clubhouse. I don't understand why they wouldn't? It makes no sense not to.

Here in Chicago it's okay, and most of the OTB's are affiliated with a restaurant, so they have wi-fi. 2 years ago, I was advised no. But, I checked with their management and they said it was a misunderstanding. Now no issues. They only ask that you do not wager on-line with like TwinSpires at their place, and use their tellers or machines to wager, which isn't an issue for me.
Anyone ever been to the OTB at Monterey Fairgrounds (CA)?
Was thinking of trying it out... Have the same question about laptops.

My local track offers wi fi but has blocked ADW sites. It makes sense doing that though.
