After reading Mike Mitchell talk about drugs in Ray Paulicks report, throwing the baby out with the bathwater seems hardly good for the horses that are bleeders but a politics aside. Here is the idea.
Lets pretend that you are in charge of breeding the new thoroughbred. You have the choice of 2 stallions and two mares to start your heard. Your choices can be any 4 horses from the 20th century. Who would you choose to make up the new breed.
My choices would be
Stallions
Discovery- For his broodmare sire ability and distance and soundness abilities.
Nearco- Sire ability and and Tesio product with lots of ST Simon
Mares
Belle of Troy- Blue Larkspur and La Troienne
Frizzette- Speed, soundness and fertility
