ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS
This is what we get from the present stuff going on in Washington . What next? It still scares me!!

Barbara Walters said that this was going to hurt ABC bad. As You know she works for ABC .

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS!
YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING REPORTERS TO WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA. THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL ABOUT 'CAUSES'.

SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?

I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES.
WE ARE SLOWLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND
EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN.
ABC=American Broadcasting Company? NO! Now it should be named the

Nothing screams "phony patriotism" like a flag pin on a politician. Some how we are suppose to forget they are crooks just because they are wearing a flag pin on their lapel.

I just wish I had thought of them first. That guy must be rolling in dough. Do they have them for the Confederate flag? Maybe I could make a buck or two selling them.

This chain mail has been circulating since 9/11:

Obama was tacked on to the message during the campaign when he was attacked for not always wearing one. As President, he wears one all the time.

I am an US citizen who is 63 years old and over the years I have seen my fair share of phonys. It has been my experence the louder they shout something the more likely they have figure out a way to turn the shouting into cash. If you want to support our troops give the money to the USO or VFW or some other group that helps the the troops instead of buying a flag pin made in China.

The incongruity between this policy and libs' incessant claims to patriotism should be evident to all. Libs will be the first ones to pound their chest claiming to be at least as patriotic as their best conservative counterpart. In fact, BO himself back in '08 (I think it was) during a campaign speech when he lamented and decried the terrible 8 Tril debt Bush saddled us with, claimed that such policy was downright unpatriotic, implying that he was patriotic since he was dead against such sinful, wasteful, unconscionable spending.

And didn't Biden once say that the more taxes we pay, the more patriotic we are, clearly implying that Conservatives who hate taxes are unpatriotic?

If anything at all, ABC should have a policy demanding their people wear the flag pins!

Robert, can you explain how or why, with a straight face, ABC News can be "neutral" about causes like freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom to associate around the TV and watch their tripe, freedom to watch their tripe without worrying about warrantless searches and seizures of our viewing habits, and on and on and on....What cause does a flag pin advocate for that anyone with a channel selector in his hand would be offended by? It's beyond bizarre to me to think that an idea like this was kicked around and discussed by several people, for sure, and that it still became policy.

So we have these freedoms because someone is wearing or not wearing a flag pin? Wrong. We have them because they are guaranteed by our Constitution.

Despite what most conservatives seem to think, other countries also have these freedoms. The people of England have freedom of speech, freedom of the press and others. I have not been to England, but I am fairly certain that not a lot of the English are wearing an American flag lapel pin.

You are confusing the symbol with the substance.

Some people are really concerned about whether someone else is wearing a pin or not. I figure that's because they aren't smart enough to judge a person's position based on its merits.

I shall continue to watch ABC. Unless their shows are crappy.

I am offended by anyone who thinks I am stupid enough to believe he or she is a patroit because they spent a buck and a half at a convenience store on a flag pin. If all a traitor has do do is put a flag pin for people to believe that he is a patroit, we are in a lot of trouble.
As for things like warrantless searches, some the biggest critics of them are conservatives. You will have no problem finding people opposed to them on Fox News. I personally have no problem with them as long as they are used a against terrorists, all terrorists including both Islamic and McVeigh wantabees.

I don't know who is the bigger idiot here. You for posting this or me for not checking it out.

http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/government/a/abc_flag_pins.htm

AbC Did issue a order for its reporters to not wear American flag lapel pins. It did it not this year but in 2001 after 9/11. The order was given not to maintain neutrality, but to keep the reporters from becoming targets. There is no evidence that this order is still in effect.

Ok. I've decided now. You are the bigger idiot. You come in here posting something you got from an e-mail that is at least three years old. You posted it without checking it out because you wanted it to be true. Or because you did not care whether it was true or not. Really?

From one of your favorite sources...wikipedia:

Mark R. Levin grew up in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Levin graduated from Cheltenham High School and holds a bachelor of arts from Temple University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude. Levin also earned a juris doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law.Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude.

That's some idiot.

Maybe you should just stick to disagreeing with their political philosophies and leave the handing out of the "idiot stickers" to someone more qualified than yourself.

Mark Levin is an idiot because of the way he treats people. Listen to his show. He rarely takes a call from a liberal, but when he does he insults them and hangs up on them. I am sure he screens the calls and if you are a liberal and articulate you have no chance of getting on.

No, just Republican Hispanic/Latino people that have rejected the doctrine of entitlement, dependency, and victimology that the Left has force fed into ethnic minorities for decades. This actually was a very predictable reaction from Ed, we have heard countless others just like it from leftists. The Democrats mindset is that all minorities belong to them, and that any member of such that is a conservative or a GOP member has deserted, commited a grevious sin and an act of treason.
