"You don’t have any other society where the educated classes are so effectively indoctrinated and controlled by a subtle propaganda system – a private system including media, intellectual opinion forming magazines and the participation of the most highly educated sections of the population. Such people ought to be referred to as "Commissars" – for that is what their essential function is – to set up and maintain a system of doctrines and beliefs which will undermine independent thought and prevent a proper understanding and analysis of national and global institutions, issues, and policies". -- Noam Chomsky

Tuffmug, on what planet do you live? "Conservative commissars"? Don't you know that most colleges and universities are overrun with Liberal professors whose mission in life seems to be to indoctrinate (subtly and oftentimes not so subtly) the student body with their socialistic (if not downright communistic) doctrines?

Box,

Agreed!

In my experience, it is almost impossible to find a conservative educator. And the higher the level of schooling the more they teach their opinions as clear fact.

Fox News just did a study Of THE NEW YORK TIMES book review section: All the Liberal non-fiction books blasting conservatives have gotten reviewed.
Not one best selling conservative book has been reviewed.
Even the book review section is liberal for God's sake.

This country is controlled by the socio-economic elite who are very capitalistic and the money lead the political thinking. It is human and political nature to centralize control using any influemce at hand. The counter-balance that our founding fathers intalled are term limits, seperation of powers, and the recognation that if things go too far the numbers of the citizenry will bring things back closer to the reasonable center one way or another!!

You've got that right, Dave! This country is coming dangerously close to being ruled by unelected elite judges who shamefully usurp the powers of elected legilstors by legislating from the bench. In fact, Libs, who defend this unconstituional practice, will say that when any legislature actually does it job, it's merely playing "politics" with an issue, as many Libs claimed the Florida Legislature did in the Terri Schiavo situation. Evidently, many Libs stupidly believe that judges are above playing politics!

Just the opposite, Boxcar. Since the liberal judges make laws, not merely interpret them, the libs scared to death conservative judges might do the same. That's why they are holding up Bushe's conservative appointments. The crime these good people have committed,"in the liberal eye" is to be conservative.
