Dropping off a win is possibly the criteria.

Yes dropping in claiming price off a win is right --but must also be racing back within 45 days

"Alarming Drop" sounds like the same thing as Negative Class Drop?

Another BRIS stat I've seen a lot recently is "Mdn Win L/R." Can't find the definition for this one...can anyone tell me what the L/R means?

Here's an "alarming drop" that I spotted yesterday in the 10th at Saratoga. The #2 Big Creek dropped from the 1 million purse Queens Plate up at Woodbine into a 20K Claimer. Before that was in two other stakes races and didn't do that badly. Todd Pletcher trainer. (link to program below)

http://www.brisnet.com/php/bw_pdf_viewer.php?track=SAR&race=10&date=2012-08-01

Went off as the favorite at 2.65 to 1 and finished 10th of 11 beaten over 24 lengths. (chart below)

Seems like Brisnet has been adding more and different comments lately. I've seen quite a few new ones.

This comment for Big Creek seems new to me.

"Showed declining form and speed (on AW) in last start"

Big Creek was a 300K purchase and had only made 56K of that back, had only had 8 races and was a 3 yr old. The whole thing just screamed to me "we are dumping this horse if anybody wants it"

He got claimed from that race and his new trainer is Randy Persuad so we'll see what happens from here.

Big Creek is running in a 35K Claimer on Thursday 8-16 at Saratoga, 7 furlongs. 20-1 morning line

Trainer Randy Persuad has 6 wins in 245 starts this year for a whopping 2.4% win rate. :jump:

Be careful , as soon as they hear you laughing , they win at 40-1 and beat you out of a score.

Yea, Persuad might get himself some of that Dermorphin stuff.

Persuad is 7% first after claim.

Shortening up to 7 furlongs might help the horse but he was already fading after 6 furlongs in his last race a route at 9 furlongs.

5 furlongs 105 in his latest work, poor.

Pletcher dumped him for 20K. There's more than likely something wrong with that horse.

Strange things happen, but I don't see it.

Claiming well bred drop downs from top trainers is Persaud's MO.

Persaud's "hope" is that the horse is not too badly damaged and can run in "cheap claiming races". Persaud is doing worse than usual becasue the competition at lower levels NOW is very tough for a bottom feeder like Persaud.

He got a decent Phipps horse, Hedge Fund on a claim and ran the horse 25 times from
Sept -May...25 times at Bel/ Aqueduct. Hedge Fund usually won or placed in these 7.5k claimers at Aqu in the winter.

The horse was in good shape when Persaud got him that is why he was able to race as much as he did. When Hedge Fund began "losing" these cheap races in Ap/May...off he went to the end of the line Mountaineer.

Fortunately for Hedge Fund, Super Saver, his half-brother won the Derby in 2010 and Winstar "rescued" Hedge Fund and retired him.

I play NYRA every day and am so happy Persaud is tanking this year.

Well, Big Creek clunked up and nosed out 2 or 3 others for 4th place.

Probably screwed a few people out of the superfecta.

There was 4 scratches in the race.

No where close to winning though.
