With all the "glass half empty", deeply pessimistic, posts in this forum on a regular basis, is there any hope for us at all???

Without a doubt we are well past the point of no return...

It happened to many other "great societies", and it is happening here, right now...

I hate to be so pessimistic, but I see nothing coming in the future but more greed, hate, racism, sexual perversion, terrorism, but most of all, Godlessness, on the horizon...

The people that are in charge are beyond out of control, and it gets worse day by day...

What could save it ?....Yes what ?....We have no manufacuring base any longer, and the government is on an unprecedented spending spree with no end in sight...What would change it ?...Human nature being what it is, not much I am afraid to admit, will help us now....

New World Order coming soon, to a nation near you... ...It is Biblical...

best,

As long as we elect leaders who are not liberal and who will not compromise with liberals, we can recover.

And if we smarten up and demand single term limits and demand our government act like employees instead of royalty.

I seriously think we have to pare down from 50 states. No nation can survive with about half of it taking care of the other half.

Democrats love big government on economic issues, Repubicans love big government on social issues. Until someone emerges who actually favors limited government, our mess will not be fixed.

The Tea Party has honest to goodness democrats in it too. Considered traitors by the extreme far left, but there are honest democrats who feel they too are being sold down the river by spending into oblivion.

naturally every one wants to focus in on political parties that are rotten to the core. but the history of the world has not changed yet, its the bankers stupid. bankers are to lazy to work and to yellow to steal. we are in the process now of getting rid of them throughout the world. the proof of that is in the price of gold, the only salvation we have in our country to get to futher prosperity is to go back to the gold standard and wipe out all the bankers. and for all you doom and gloomers out there that come out of the woodwork because you think there is no chance at properity, well i have bad news for you, help for this country is on its way, a rising gold prices, and none of the thieving bankers will be able to stop it.

I see it like this, the leaders of both parties are rearranging the deck chairs

Bankers and politicians have been rotten to the core since before 1776. This country has survive over 200 years of their shenanigans. It going take more than the likes of them to bring this country down. The one thing that does worry me is the lack of patriotism of the very rich. The clang of money has caused some of them to forget that China is our enemy.

I don't see any hope. We've totally lost all respect abroad with our careless spending and greed. Our lenders view us as spoild brats, which we are. The dollar will eventually come down as the world reserve currency and then everything will fall apart. It's more of a matter of when rather than will it.

Google "normalcy bias". That's what we suffer from in this country. It's happened to others, there's absolutely nothing that would prevent it happening here. People have this false sense of security in this country and that's a huge problem. Very few are prepared and that's not good. Good luck !!

Rising gold prices isn't a good mark in a failing economy. It suggest a lack of faith in currency and standard commodities. The stock market could act as a buffer zone between the two, but faith in that will eventually grow thin. The worse things get the more scared even short term investors become. They're basically accounting for these shifty gains of late. A huge rise in gold & silver prices over an extended period would more or less signal an econimic collapes because all else has basically failed.

gold has always represemted stability in markets. when you can't count on paper and your leaders there is gold. the united states hold 74.4% of their total reserves in gold, they also have gold in ft. knox and westpoint. that is what i call stability. they guard that stuff and treat it like its their own children.

i know what i am saying is not conventional wisdom. but what i have learned in my life is that conventional wisdom is wrong more often than not. just like mothers feeding their children big meals full of bad substances and producing fat children. just like the saying you can beat a race but you can't beat the races, i have proven that one wrong my whole life. and the best one is to buy a good company's stock and not look at it and hold it forever and watch your wealth apreciate. that has brought you the fine stocks like pan american airlines, general motors, american tel and tel, digital equipment, kodak. lucent technologies, enron, worldcom. i could give you a list of these things that would blow your mind.this is what conventional thought process brings you. i constantly play devils advocate, its in my nature, my mother taught me well, always doubt the obvious. the obvious thing is gold is not good for our country. i say it is great for future prosperity.

go long america, buy gold

when you can't count on paper and your leaders there is gold.
That was my point. When you can't count on paper or your leaders that's not the mark of a healthy economy. Can you imagine for a moment if everyone turned all their investments solely into gold? What would become of our banks or the stock market? Of course gold is the smart investment, but cerainly not one to ignite a recovery.
The bigger the train wreck, the more expensive that gold becomes.

We are rapidly running out of time and options. Pat Buchanan warned us nearly ten years ago in his book, "The Death of the West", and things are much worse than when he wrote it. Whichever name you choose to call it; liberalism/progressivism/socialism/communism/facism/collectiveism/statism, whatever, it must be rolled back and crushed. If not, we are doomed and will cease to exist as a republic no later than mid century. Islamic expansion must be checked and pushed back. If this means expulsion of Muslims and war with all of Islam, so be it. We must secure our borders. No nation is history has survived that has had unsecure borders. Quite bluntly, the US, and even more so the Euro-Socialists, lack the political will to do these things, so Western civilization may indeed be descending into an age of savagery and tyranny.

skate didnt vote

we are in the lead

Basically two points come to mind , people and the earth.

I'm not sure about "We the People", but the potential that we have in the ground makes the question about "can we" simple to answer...certainly.

Exxon is sitting on their biggest oil find ever and that's is only the start.

Ethics is another start/finish.

These articles have about as much credibility as Lindsay Lohan at a probation hearing. The page had ads for a magnetic generator for my house, excema cures, sure fire penny stocks, half off on background checks, chinese weight-loss tea, and to top it off I won 2 iPads! http://paceadvantage.com/forum/images/smilies/43.gif

The bigger the train wreck, the more expensive that gold becomes.we are only humans, we are very prone to mistakes. i know things don't look good in front of us, but we all have to go on and find the positives in this world. you can't stop caring about your family because the political system is failing you, you have to keep in step and hope for the best. try making a positive out of a negetive. i do it all the time. like in horses, i try to take advantage of a bad race. in my case, either at the windows or in the spotting of my horses. it really works for me.

Just watch a little Fox News......time to batten down the hatches, according to them......but they've been saying that since Obama was elected.

Boxcar

Nope, i can't, because the question does not fit. If i were to pic one question, then you'd have a slant on my opinion.

Oh sure i could squeeze in an answer for ya...

The first question"this Great Country"...nope, i aint sayin that there, not now.
But before anyone goes off being offended, let me say "WAS"/"Becomes" Great Country would fit, but NOT Great Country as in Now.

Second question the "Hell No" would Never fit the-skate.

Third question "I'd like to THINK in the term OK". That there is a Female "Thing". What...you are gonna "THINK" things to be OK?

Now any of the above might just fit anybody, i get that, but we are Talking skate here .
