there were a couple strides in the stretch where Chardsey made incredible ground on the leaders who did not seem to be slowing


I am still scratching my head on how they did that - was the rail dead or the horse hit some springs or just incredible increase in distance per stride?

The horse was bearing in and out through the stretch and the jockey was trying to keep him straight. Had he kept him straight and doing his best through the entire stretch, he would have won by a lot more and a lot easier. Watch the "head on" at NYRA.com. I actually bet the horse to PLACE :lol: and was sweating on an off through the stretch drive. :eek:

the head on showed Chardsy drifting badly in and out


what I saw as a quick move was partly optical illusion
from camera angle as horse veered from middle of track into other 2 horses
