Tonight (8/11) at 8pm ET (5pm PT), on our live Internet radio show "Winning Ponies", we welcome Dan Collins and Joe Kristufek.
Dan Collins who manages Bona Venture Stables, is a life-long racing enthusiast who once spent a summer covering the horse racing scene for The Saratogian newspaper in Saratoga Springs, NY. In 1996, Mr. Collins became involved in his first racing syndicate and began learning about pedigrees, conformation and the sales process. He purchased his first thoroughbred in 1999 and formed Bona Venture Stables in 2005. Bona Venture Stables LLC is a horse racing organization dedicated to providing the average investor an opportunity for ownership in a major league sports franchise – thoroughbred horse racing! Today, there are about 40 individuals who are involved in individual ownership of a thoroughbred race horse through Bona Venture Stables. They maintain an active stable of between 8 to 15 thoroughbreds racing, and breeding primarily in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Florida. They take a unique approach to ownership by actively engaging their members in a social atmosphere in addition to their participation as team members.
Joe Kristufek is a self-proclaimed "horse racing ambassador", currently serving as the racing writer for the Daily Herald newspaper in Chicago, where he has been the area's leading published handicapper for seven of the last 10 seasons. Joe who is a member of the National Turf Writers Association, is also Arlington Park's morning-line maker and program comments writer, and is involved in several horse-racing related educational projects within the Chicago horse racing industry. He also does guest television appearances with track analyst Jessica Pacecho over the Arlington airwaves. Together with Horse Player NOW partner Jeremy Plonk, Kristufek launched the highly successful "Night School" Monday on-line fan education program earlier this year. Currently housed on more than 30 industry websites, Night School tackles a fresh topic each week, and features high profile guest panelists.
