Ok, I have a weird problem with my computer..

Everytime I come back onto the internet, in my favorties folder 4 links keep reappearing, all for a porn site (and no I dpn't go to porn sites....on this computer :-)

When I click properties, it says its a 'toon comics' link, but I can find nothing anywhere to delete this. I am assuming its embedded somewhere in my program files.

Any idea how to get rid of it?

You mean they reappear after you delete them, or you can't delete them? You can delete a favorite by right-clicking on it, then delete, or through the "organize favorites" link...

Yes, they re-appear after deleting them.

It's called a browser Hijack. They are a bitch to fix sometimes. I had some customers with the same problem a while back. as usual...... 1. what version of windows 2. what browser version 3. How long have you had it?

I will see what I can find on this one in particular......

until then.....go to add or remove programs and make sure it didn't actually install a program that is doing this. Sometimes it is as easy as un-installing the program they slipped onto your system.

You may want to go over and download this program called

Hijack This! http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/

But don't use it unless you know for sure what you are taking off your system..................you can use it to browse your system.....but before you remove anything....make sure you know what it is.

JR, I am running WIndows XP, and have had it since I got this computer (about 6 months ago).
I have the latest IE browser.

Try opening REGEDIT and searching for the name in your Favorites list, or the URL that those links point to. (Start > Run...type in "regedit"). Delete any references you find.

I should add to be very careful when editing the registry. Check back for help if you're unsure about what you might be deleting.
