Hi there:
As there are "horses for courses", I also think there are "programs or software for courses".
Some of the programs I have do great at selecting the contenders and ultimately the winner in the top 3 80% of the time at major tracks, and at minor tracks you can also use their top contenders as the "no contenders".
Some of the other programs do great at small tracks, and other programs do OK overall.
Any comments, suggestions?
Thanks,
GE

You have programs that get the winner in the top 3 80% of the time? Those programs should be making you rich.

Sq764 is right, the races I was refering to are races where there is info on all horses. Races where there are many variables missing, such as maidens, first time turf, shippers, etc cannot be handicapped accurately by any program.

As to the 80% on the top three, yes they are there.
Top three rated horses with Pace/Style at the past Oak Tree Meet, One mile claimers 13 races 11 winners 84.6%
Same rating, same meet Alw and Optional Claimers 6 1/2 Turf Downhill 8 races 7 winners 87.5%

Now here is a rating most of you are aware of: Bris Prime Power Rating=>Same meet Alw and Optional Claimers Sprints Dirt 10 races 8 winners 80%

If all races were like the ones above I could get a yatch a go to every riviera in the world and bet through TVG or any other web service. However, a few maiden races, and other difficult to handicap races are thrown in.

This same program which sizzles at most major tracks, it just dies on minor tracks. That's why no one program can serve all your needs.
The following is a copy/paste without touch-up of any kind of two tracks and two programs attacking the races with minimal investment. These were all bets made today.

OK, So you got 80% winners from your top 3 picks How can you make a profit ? I guess you Riviera Guys are thinking "DUTCH" all 3 picks. I would like to know how you can make a profit playing three horses. unless your three are 3-1 or better on a flat bet.If someone knows a better way. I would appreciate knowing.

Het guys, let's make that the Italian Rivierra. ^%$&the French.
Top 3 at CA no big feat where short fields dominate. But, GEM if you're making money, take the Kelly Criterian and go, go go.

Dutching 3 horses per race will at best break you even at most West Coast, and most other tracks.

On the bets made yesterday:
You can see I single the #2 horse in a 7 horse field...(5th choice in the betting) at Hollywood's first race.
On the second race I had two horses, the favorite and the second choice (real and capable favorite/contenders).
Now, just taking the daily double into account, the possible combinations were 7 X 10 = 70 I only played two combinations or 2.8% of the possible combos.
How about MNR's first race, the morning odds were 7/5, 3/1, and 5/1 boxed them into a tri that only paid $18.70 per Dollar...with the odds going super low at post time, I would not have made the bet. Regarding what type of software I use, well Bris Past Performance Generator gave you this one in exact order if you sort the ponies by power rating.

I think all software are good...You just have to figure out at what specific type of races they are good for, and play on their strenghts. Also, what type of betting is this software good for.
I have 7 separate software packages in my computer, and although I am doing OK, I am still learning everyday to maximize my knowledge of their strenghts.

Now, I need to learn and maximize the proper way to bet.
my two cents.
