Maybe should have been OT but here we are. Wondering if anyone has
ever seen or heard about... a system that did this:

Take the horse with the Highest weight and the lowest odds. Assign that
horse a 20. Go thru all of the horses - do a little math - and voila .. the
winner will show up and /or the Favorite will be tossed out.
Any ideas ? I Just forgot how to do the math :bang: Thanks for putting up
with this.

Work this out for me:

Horse weight ML

A 125 5
B 120 4
C 120 7
D 125 10
E 115 10

Thanks

Looks like a system I remember from about 1980 where you took the lowest 5 morning line horses and added their weight assignment to their odds and played the lowest total number to win. A spin off was to dutch the 2 lowest totals to win.

A 125-5=120
An so on.

The highest score is your bet.

I have to see if I can locate the one I had...

something like:

wgt / odds/ # / total

(1)124 / 3.50 / 20 / 23.50
(2)124 / 3.75 / 19 / 22.75
(2)124/ 12.50 / 18 / 30.50
(3)(5)120 / 2.90 / 16 / 18.90
(2,3)120 / 7.50 / 15 / 22.50
(2,3)(5)120 / 8.10 / 14 / 22.10
(3)(5)114 / 4.90 / 14 / 18.90

(1) highest weight with lowest odds assigned 20
(2) same weight as highest, in odds order, -1 incrementally in assignment #
(3) next weight, subtract diff in weight from 20 to get assigned #
(4) add odds and # to get total
(5) play longest odds of 3 lowest total

usually not a good play where all carry same weight..

its been a while..

:)

Another version adds the post position in. It has been around at least since I was a kid in the 60s. It catches quite few winners but is long way from profitable. Wt+PP -ML = X. High number is the bet.

I do recall that the system was not published anyplace. At least that I know
of. There was a gent who used to mark his program as soon as he got to
the track. Then we would flock to him .. to get the figures :) This has
been more than several years ago
My friend the retired witch doctor will look at the figures yawl posted
and report back. Since nobody ever talks about weight anymore..who
knows ? :bang: Thanks again !
