Does anyone miss Raybo besides me ? I don't know much about why Raybo left,
nor do I care, but I think he contributes quite a bit to this Forum. His contribution with ALLDATA is impressive, and his handicapping knowledge was extensive. The fact that he and HCAP and others, do not charge for their contributions says a lot. Let's urge him to come back.

I wasn't aware that he left. If so, that is too bad. He seems like a genuinely good guy and is/was always willing to share. He had some very interesting idea about the Superfecta. In fact, if he does come back, I would very much like to see an example of his odds-spread estimate for determining whether a super is playable. Are you sure he is gone? I hope nothing serious happened to him health-wise and that isn't the reason he is conspicuous by his absence.

See the AllData thread in the software section. I have a feeling that he will return but that's just speculation on my part.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that as I don't follow that thread. Hopefully, the issues can be resolved or at least dissipate over time as is often the case.

LOL. Nice Song.
On a more serious note. I tried to PM Raybo a few days ago, and was unable to.
PA I assume you did this intentionally. Why?

Users can set whether or not they receive PMs. I doubt PA did it, most likely Raybo did.

I did it.

If he wants to badmouth this website and claim he doesn't want to be here anymore, why would I want him to have access to the private messaging system?

I did finally contact him and told him I might start this thread. He wasn't wild about the idea at all. I like to hear all points of views and sometimes an opposing view can teach you something. Raybo's views are a little different than mine when it comes to handicapping, and so are CJ's. But I think I can learn something from both of them.

PA, I suppose you meant that sarcastically ? No matter. Apology accepted. Your
friend CJ spoke very highly of you. After being around him a couple of times, I value his opinion. Always err on the side of FREE SPEECH, when it comes to people like Raybo or me. Pace Advantage is easily the best website for Handicapping. Keep it that way.

we live in an ERA of twisted propaganda
but even so, the "FREE SPEECH" thing is a bit much.

It sure seemed like Raybo made an unfortunate comment in a sponsored thread.

Just that alone is enough to justify being banned.

However I know that IN REALITY not everybody participates 24/7 in an aware state where they would self-moderate and notice a sponsorship and "over-ride their BS meter".

Then again, from what I can tell, PA didn't even ban him immediately, although a pretty negative comment had been made in that thread.

From afar it looks like Raybo had a chance to continue using the site, however EGOS inflated beyond bandwidth capacity. Of course I have no idea how pissed or confrontational PA may have been with his initial reaction to seeing a paying advertiser ill-treated.
Raybo seems like a cool guy and a contributor. Although I can't recall specific tips, I always thought it was cool that he was a SUPERFECTA specialist. Wish he was still on the site. Just think we oughta be fair to all parties if we are gonna start being fair all of a sudden...

Yes I did contact him before I made this thread.

I mistakenly said I mentioned to raybo that I might start a thread. I mentioned it
to HCAP. HCAP wasn't wild about it, but I suppose was barely positive. He didn't think it would do any good. I also noticed on Raybo's website that he considers
PACE ADVANTAGE the best Forum on the WEB.
I was a Sartin Client in the early 80's and through Jim Bradshaw heard a little about the bustup between Sartin Schmidt and Pizzolla. Having been around a few mini-feuds in my life, they can be very destructive over the piddliest crap.
I repeat: I did talk to raybo but not about starting a thread urging him to come back.

Raybo has never been banned.

In addition, I have no problem with someone being CRITICAL in an advertiser's thread. And it's happened from time to time.

But with Raybo, there was a big difference. He had NEVER even tried the software (it has a free demo if I am not mistaken), yet he came into that thread passing some serious judgement on it...

Is that fair?

I don't know if it is fair or not. I would probably be on your side, because this is your website, and you can run it any way you wish. I believe Raybo has added much to this forum don't you? I know that I disagree with people and have angered some but I really like this forum and I would like to make it better. The free exchange of ideas both political and handicapping are what makes this forum and this country great. I believe Raybo is an idealist and is doing what he thinks is right. So are you.
