They've now won 2 straight games. They're on track to having the worst team in their history, including old Colt 45's. Don't think they'll match the 62 Mets, but they're trying awfully hard.

Nobody will ever match the '62 Mets. Remember Choo Choo Coleman?

Ralph Kiner once asked him "What's your wife's name and what's she like?", to which he replied: "My wife's name is Mrs. Coleman and she likes me."

The Cubs had gone 102 games without a 3 game win streak.... until the Astros came to town. But, it should be pointed out, the Astros swept a series from the Cubs earlier in the year.

Now the Astros have sent Pence packing. Now Carlos Lee is the only threat in the lineup and their pitching staff is a disgrace to the major league.

It is all Gov Perry's fault.

Here in OKC, our Triple A team is the Redhawks. For years Texas was the affiliation, and it was great watching guys like Nelson Cruz and Neftali Feliz play. I even went to World Series last year and it was neat to see how far these guys had come.

Since Nolan Ryan purchased the team, he wanted the AAA team in Round Rock and we basically switched teams. The Redhawks are now the farm club for the Astros. I wouldn't pay $1 to go watch them play. The team stinks. I have to imagine any player with the slightest hint of ability is already on the Astros.

I saw the Corpus Christi Hooks play in Tulsa. The Redhawks and Lastros ain't getting better in the foreseeable future.

I thought I knew baseball, and I thought I knew North American geography, but I have never heard of Round Rock until right now. Man, the things you can learn at Pace Advantage bar and grill...

Aren't the Astros the Phillies class AAAA farm club? :D

;)

Round Rock = Austin, TX. Dell Inc is located there, Mike Dell built the ballpark a few yrs ago....Easily accessable from highly affluent northwest Austin and the northern towns aurrounding Austin.

One of Nolan Ryan's son saw what many did 15+ or so yrs ago, Austin was ripe for a AA / AAA team. Property in Austin proper is very costly so RR was the right choice.

The next MLB franchise locale is possibly within 5 miles of Dell Diamond. Building a MLB park between SA and Austin is a failure wtg to happen. But, build it close to where the more affluent or upper middle class is, which means as far away from SA as possible & as close to northern Travis & southern Williamson county as possible & you have a good shot at success.

His #s look awesome, cjd. I hope he can sustain that in our ballpark and heat.

If Chris Davis can hit pitches above the thigh in the strike zone someday, you just bagged an all star. Defensively he's 2nd only to Texiera that i can tell, has power, but has a problem w/ the upper half of the zone...k's a lot, but has improved.

I think all he needs is a patient mgr and hopefully Buck will give him some rope. The kid can play. If we didn't have Moreland they'd never have let Chris go...the R's have messed w/ the kid's head by playing him at 3rd a bit, he's a 1b and needs to stay put. Range, scoop, glove - he has all the defensive tools

Hunter is a serviceable pitcher...can be a 5th, or a decent long reliever

To CJ's dad

If you guys sign Dylan Bundy, you will be competative in the next few years. Dylan and Bobby Bundy are the real deal. Killer B's will be in Baltimore before you know it.

Kinda straying from the OP but what the heck. With the O's it's all about pitching. Defensively, the infieldi is average, the OF excels especially in right with Nick M. and his arm (best in majors ?) and Matt Wieters is great at throwing out would be base stealers. The problem, as with most sub .500 teams is pitching. Since the expansion to 32 teams, pitching quality has declined steadily. Few teams have a 20 game winner anymore.

So, here's hoping he signs with the O's and the rest of the young guns live up to their advance billing of a few years ago.

Oh, to return o the glory years.

Congrats on the O's signing Dylan Bundy. Most people around here think he is an improved version of Josh Johnson.
