He's good to fill exactas and tris, but needs a perfect setup to win. I sell.

honestly, at his best i still think don't think he would win. Even so I am not a Lezcano fan.

the horse that intrigues me in that race is Ron the Greek. He is with mott now and i like what i saw down at gulfstream alot. would want ice box to get played but i like Ron the Greek if he is around his M/L odds

Both are deep closers up against a small field and track bias, give me the outside two at a price

yeah apparently ice box channeled his inner ghostzapper and tired to wire the field. the problem is he isn't ghostzapper

Not that it makes it any less surprising, but IIRC, Ice Box showed speed in a couple of his races at GP early last year.

Why would this ever change? New style, same horse.

TLG brings up a good point. i can't remember the last time i saw a zito turf horse. don't think that's going to happen. I think he has a better chance of retiring than him going to turf.

I didn't bring up a good point. I know his next start is unlikely to be a turf race. However, given his breeding, turf is clearly an option. But, potential stallions aren't raced on the turf until their dirt options become, let's say, limited as far as realism at least.

Ice Box was off a long layoff, and as such needed to gain conditioning from a race like yesterday's, and thus being sent to the lead likely accomplished that much better than sitting last off a slow pace would have. Either way, he wasn't winning, so he both maximized his chances and gained valuable conditioning. Sounds like a good plan that worked well to me.
