Millionaire and four-time grade I winner Awad died July 23 at Old Friends in Georgetown, Ky. The 21-year-old horse was discovered early in the morning in his paddock, dead from an apparent heart attack.

Ran the 10f of the Arlington Million in 1:58.69. The only other horse to run sub 1:59 in the race was PERRAULT in 1982 (1:58.80). With that said, PERRAULT was the better horse, IMHO.

What outstanding photos, PTL. Thanks so much for sharing.

A friend on FB has one of him hamming it up for the camera back in April, just a while ago, mouth wide open, lip curled, smiling with perfectly lined teeth--wanting more carrots and head rubs.

What a great fella, glad he lived well in retirement.

The horse that got me interested in learning turf racing. Sorry to read of his passing. I hope he had a happy retirement.
