As of late with my reasssurance in racing with this brave new world, and it seem to be getting bigger. The entrance of THE BETTING MARKETS, not going into the pools and being able to bet many track quickly and to be able to place wagers at the last minute at MULTIBLE TRACKS whitch somtimes is diffIcult at the simulcast facility.. I as of late have been by the computer betting 4 or more tracks at a time. I look for value so last minute wagers are key sometimes. I am profitable but the LONLYNESS factor sets in. I am curious what other players are doing today. The successful ones mostly???

Thanks,
Cougar

The first thing I do is to list all my win plays. Some days that is only 1 or 2. Weekends, usually 10-15. Then I look at another list that tells me what kinds of betting opportunities there are, such as dd's, p3's etc. Then I look for ways to capitalize on that. Then I call in my win bets and any exotics I was able to manufactor. Finally, I spend the rest of the day cruising the porn sites trying to broaden my mind, working on my dbs (seems to be a forever occupation), and watching the posts in here.

Lonley...naghhhhhhh, I am having the time of my life. Every day Santa Clause comes, so to speak

new subject:

Have YOU ever called a stranger and said, "Who do you like today?"

Larry...

Your a funny guy, i like that. Personally i have trouble calling in my bets in advance. I have not found the optimum way to do this for long term profit. And yes i keep trying. There are many opportunities that slip through your fingers when you are not monitoring preciscly The public let some pretty nice horses get away at decent prices, that the ML odds you would normaly pass, and if your not watching closley and just throwing everthing into a database you dont even see it. Anyway, i can monitor closley and do just fine. I do aspire to phoning in everthing and going out to the golf course....

I find that monitoring the tote board and watching the race drives me nuts. Actually what I am doing is betting on my pile of numbers that my dbs spit out. I haven't looked at a race since the breeders cup. I haven't monitored a tote board in a very long time.

Fact is, I have my next project in mind--real time tote monitoring db and making some decisions for me based on a betting strategy of my own making. The last and most important factor in this computerized game is bet decision trees.

Yeah, I realize I am missing much, but I am protecting myself the only way I know how.

I love not going to the track. Even though Laurel is only about 10 minutes away, I stay home and watch TVG, or the non TVG races on my computer. I sure don't miss the distractions of the racing environment. And guess what! If I want a beer, it doesn't cost $4.00.

Actually, I find it much easier to pass races at home. At the track, I find myself putting in a small bet just for the action. At home, I'll wash the dishes or fix a snack between bettable races.

And, like Larry says, there isn't anyone asking me "Who do you like today?"

1. TVG on keeps people and conversation in the room.
2. Web sites with talk shows about racing-listen to the archives.
3. Visit to the Off Topic thread-to get the mind working on something else for a few minutes.
4. Visit a porn site then try to beat the million pop up windows without having to re-boot. <G>
5. Get into an argument with the.....v-o-i-c-e-s !
