Racing has been cancelled today at Colonial Downs and Woodbine. Others likely to be added before day is over.

They are racing at Arlington today in the same heat. I hope the horses are ok.

Don't know what's worse for a horse, running in this heat or when it's 10 degree F. For me when I was very athletic, it sucked playing/running in the heat, but if you were properly hydrated, you'd make it. In the freezing cold, injuries were more prone.

Horses prefer the cold, and heat raises the risk of a horse internally bleeding through Lasix.

Are they racing at Ellis Park? With the track being located at the basin near the Ohio River, it is the most humid place I have ever been. I always tell people I behave extra good when I get back from a Summer visit there as it is a sample of what H*E*L*L must feel like.

They are. I heard there is no penalty of any sort for scratching, so there will be some short fields, but they're on.

Well I guess you have never been to Houston.
