What is the best bet in racing today?

Any 3yo stake race - eliminte the favorite. Don't look at it no matter what.
You have only been wrong once this year.

The Dwyer - once again, the favorite is a nothing.
Two good speeds in the race and one fails to pick up his feet.

One thing that makes 3YO stake trickier than races for older horses is that the horses are still developing. So you have to go beyond who has been running better "so far" and try to determine which of the contenders is most likely to improve. I'm not saying that's an easy task, but there are some clues in the PPs at times.

I thought the winner of the Dwyer was VERY likely to improve yesterday and bet him (at the odds) because I made the race close to a pick'em between him and the favorite to begin with. He had improved in each of his starts and was working sensationally in the last 2 months since that start.
