View Full Version : Why is it that the media...

...is constantly digging up the most ridiculous stories in an attempt to harm every perceived GOP front-runner, and yet, they are completely incapable of reporting ANYTHING negative about Obama...even when he royally screws up in a speech about him giving the MOH to a living hero who was actually KIA...

The only place I can find "mainstream" is Jake Tapper's BLOG for goodness sakes:

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2011/06/president-obama-apologizes-to-family-of-fallen-soldier.html

But Bachmann's HUSBAND getting $137k in medicaid funds for his mental health clinic is FRONT PAGE NEWS at msn.com...

It always amazes me that more people don't ask that same question.

The obvious answer is that the majority of the media are biased and have their own liberal agenda.

Jake tries to do real reporting (more than most on ABC) probably why he did not get the job of hosting the Sunday morning ABC show, which went to Christiane Amanpour.

Can you even imagine one of these "Faux News" types, actually engaging in a thread about fair media practices?

Tapper is about to be tapped to "get outta Dodge." "Dodge" obviously being the 98% of dishonest sludge that gets shoveled each & every day.

I actually paid attention to media bias for a spell. It's a hoot.

For the most part, people are robots.

One sided is that media?? You betcha.....

CNN reporter: "How's the family ready for this [the election]? It's going to be quite vicious, isn't it? How do you prepare for that?"

First Lady Michelle Obama: "You know, it's … we're ready, you know. Our children, you know, could care less about what we're doing. We work hard to do that. Fortunately, we have help from the media."

No. The obvious answer is that everybody but FOX News realizes that Republican/conservative agendas have nothing to do with the greater good of most Americans and their families. It's not rocket science.

The way the media goes after women candidates...why isn't there more of an uproar in this country from the females out there?

Hillary, then Palin, now Bachmann...man, they just love to jump all over the women candidates...pointing out every single gaffe and mistake they make like it's the end of the world. Constantly trying to paint them as emotional and intellectually lacking.

But Obama man...he claims to be pinning a medal on the chest of a man who was killed in action and nobody says a word...

Is the media sexist?

When the streets of NJ are riddled with the less fortunate and start acting like Grecians of today, can we count you in to 'give to the greater good' and cough up some of that pension for your brethren?

If what you were asked to understand rocket science and you could not understand, no problem.

Open your mind to the realities of the real world. You only mention FOX news. So ABC, NBC, CBS and all their affiliate stations that do not broadcast all the news is OK with you? They are for the greater good? Sounds like a sci-fi flick.

If you prefer to be left in the dark about what is really going on that is your choice, but do not try to put that Ostrich head in the sand thinking on me.

Rocket science knowledge not needed, but a little common sense and a open mind can go a long way.

Ah.... the overarching liberal conspiracy to enslave the population via media manipulation.

Because we the average american are blind to their liberal lies and with childlike naiveté follow their every command

But wait, the conservatives a small but dedicated group of free thinkers and patriots will, swords upraised, save america from the soulless subjugators.

Repeat this epiphany daily like a mantra, only then can you gain victory over yourself.

it is called brain-washing and the msm pulls it on the weak by calling them progressives when they really are doing nothing but blocking progress with their socialist agenda provided by government politicians which makes them political icons.

ya know what is really funny, these women don't seem to have very much in their closets,(in the way of dark secrets), and I think that scares the hell out of the current crop.

Suppose one of them got elected and the msm had to deal with real issues.

Do you realize how many would fall by the way side?

When you talk about the government, there is no greater good.
Two sides, no real difference other than how they ignore us a screw us.

The enemy is both parties, always will be.
NO ONE GETS ELECTED to national office without being bought and paid for.
Fact of life. There are NO HONEST candidates on either side. To support anyone is folly.

We need to be focusing our energies on our own Day of Rage. That is all we have.

Can you imagine the blizzard of media stories we would see if it was a Republican president and we had the same state of economy and war activity as we have now?

Even Fox news gets into the action against women. In 2008 they ran negative smear stories about Palin as soon as the election was over, and now we have Chris Wallace asking Bachman if she's a flake. It appears to me as if Fox is carrying the water for Karl Rove, I suspect that he has a big influence on who they go after on the Republican side.

We have two stories here. One is unimportant, worthy of only a cursory glance. The busiest man in the world made an error of fact. He acknowledged it. Story over.

In the second story we find that the husband of the woman, whose sole purpose in life is to attack government spending, is a major beneficiary of that spending. It is a story of hypocrisy, which you are so fond of pointing out.

The second story should be front page news. The first has stayed where it belongs; on the incestuous right wing blogosphere.

It's a dead heat in terms of prosaic sordidity. And a dead heat is like kissing one's sister, isn't it ?

I'm honored to have the enlightened opinion of mostpreposterous, but before choosing a side I wish to know the reactions of such impartial pundits as Sean Penn and Jon Stewart Leibowitz.

Spot on. I tell people that it is irrelevant who the president is. All the democrat vs. republican debates amongst people is wasted time. It is great sideshow entertainment for those who really have the power.

I was amused when people said the solution was to vote other people in, that doesn't solve the problem, the new ones are bought/paid for just the same. Or if they aren't to begin with, they won't last.

Speaking of elections, have you noticed that they are treated like a sporting event? Each network has their host (i.e. play-by-play announcer) and color analysts. Before the debates or campaign speeches, there is a "pre-game show" where they state that the candidate needs to hit these points. Then after the "game", they recite where they did good and bad, like they're analyzing the stats of the game to come up with their "score" of who won. Then to top it off, each side has its own colors, red vs. blue, sell merchandise (just like pro/college teams do).

So I've accepted that and don't get worried about election outcomes anymore. The part that saddens me about it, is just think how great this nation could be with an efficient government?

I was to add "na na na na na!: to my Obama Bingo Card.
I couldn't stomach listening to much of it, but did he explain, or was he even asked, how the beaten back Tally-Bun was able to pull off another attack this week?

Your superstitious interpretation of political pigeon-holing requires two
conditions.

An omniscient understanding of politics.

and

An omniscient understanding of reality.

Wiki:

When threatened, Ostriches run away, but they can cause serious injury and death with kicks from their powerful legs.[14] Their legs can only kick forward.[32] Contrary to popular belief, Ostriches do not bury their heads in sand.[33] This myth likely began with Pliny the Elder (AD 23-79), who wrote that Ostriches "imagine, when they have thrust their head and neck into a bush, that the whole of their body is concealed."[34]
