Actor Peter Falk died yesterday (thursday) at his home in Beverly Hills.

He was 83 years old.

When Falk was starting out as an actor in NY, an agent told him, "You'll never work in movies or TV because of your eye". (Falk lost one of his eyes to cancer at the age of 3.)

He went on to win two Oscar nominations, and collected five Emmys.

I loved Peter Falk and consider him one of the all time great comedians in addition to his acting ability.
One of my favorite movies of his that most have never heard of is called "Tune In Tomorrow". LMAO at that one. If you've never seen it your in for a real treat.

Great comedian indeed. Lots of great memories and every one is a treasure.
Rest in peace Mr. Falk, my thoughts go out to his family, friends and fans.

Had the pleasure of meeting Peter at McGirr's Pool Hall, near the old Madison Square Garden. He was a swell guy. Rest in Peace, Peter.

I remembering seeing him at some big money 9 ball games in Norwalk/Whittier in the 60's. I never saw him play but I'll never forget how surprising it was to see him walk in at 2:00am to watch a match.

He was very good at the game.

He was very good at the game.

Very unassuming and quiet as I recall you would never guess he was a famous actor from his demeanor.

He was as funny in person as he was as Columbo.

the ABC Mystery movie series, it was a must see for me. Columbo was of course my favorite "excuse me sir there's just one more thing. It will only take a minute"

Also McCloud and McMilllan and Wife.

Columbo was a great detective. When they were filming the brinks job in Boson Peter Falk was at the track every day. my brother used to run bets for him and Allen Goorwitz

A moment of silence, please, while we consider "The Trials of O'Brien," with Petey and the great Elaine Stritch. :jump: :jump:
