she runs a fever.....can't go in a grade 1......but gets entered in a grade 2 for the same day ? right !

don't think she is very afraid of joful victory, she whipped her last time, JV is not that cut of filly

I think this is one of those situtations where they are running beucase the race is there and they have the filly that is supposed to be there. i think she's a toss.

Could there be financial reasons ? 100K purse difference, to the winner 60K - shipping costs (?) If she wins, BB and the jock rake in a whopping 6K extra.and to the owner 48K.

Is it really worth it ?

Only logical move by Baffert. Why hop a plane and put your horse who just had a 24 hour spike in a stresfull situation flying cross country. He can play it out here and monitor the filly and decide if he is going to run without the expense of shipping. I would doubt the one day temp will have any affect on how she performs this week if she runs. Im sure they will be pulling a blood and looking for any elevated white count..

This is a bit surprising under any circumstances because that filly looks like she may like dirt better.

The filly showed a fever early in the week so they decided not to ship her to NY. Now she's fine and the Hol Oaks is local so if she does have a recurrence or show signs of not being at her best they wont have wasted the $ to ship. It's also possible that it's too late to arrange shipping.
