Interesting mare in the co-feature at Monmouth, race 7.
EVER ALWAYS started her career in June of 2008 at Monmouth, where she finished second but was placed first after being bumped in late stretch.
Wasn't seen again till May of 2009, when she won a first-level state bred allowance race at Monmouth by over 9 lengths, running the 6 fur in 1:08.4 and getting a Bris # of 100. Raced 3 weeks later in a nw 2x state-bred where she won by 15 1/4 lengths on a good track in 1:08.2 and getting a figure of 102.
Left the racing scene for almost 2 yrs as she came back 3 weeks ago & won an open allowance race in 1:11.1 and earning a figure of 97.

Has race a total of 4 times in 3 yrs, winning (or being placed first) all 4 races, with Bris figures no less than 95. Goes today in The Open Mind , a stake for Jersey bred F & M.
Don't know why the long spacing between races. Whether she was injured or tried the breeding shed & was found barren or something.

She had a bowed tendon. Thus the reason for the lay-up.

Of a show wagering pool of $81,782, some 73,842 was wagered on Ever Always.
After the race, the tellers on the clubhouse side were talking about the guy who put down a $40,000 show bet on Ever Always just before post time.
