i too like the #1 apache in the 6th but in the 4th im going with a bomb #3 chilworth lad

this place betting in england is as tough as i have ever seen.the horses don't pay enough and the rebate is small. they treat the place pool the same as the win pool and it is twice the takeout. i highly reccomend staying away from the place pools in england

You have to take into account that the place wager in the UK is like a show wager in the USA. Depending on the number of runners you can at times get paid for the first 4 finishers.

what i am taking into consideration is the 26% takeout on a place or show pool.

that means you go to the window with a $1.00 and return to your seat with $.74 before the race starts.


i am an awful bettor to begin with, i would rather give my money to the red cross than hand it over to the british for the privilage of making a bet on their royal circuit

next year i am going to fly to england and make sure i sit with bookmakers for the royal ascot meeting, unfortunately this year i was unprepared. i can go to the royal ascot and bet the races there and sit with a laptop in my hotel room and the american races that i am missing. you gave me a great idea to mix things up next year. a matter of fact,

the guy that plays for the new england patriots has a 2 year old that wesley ward trains that ran today there. it looks like he was having a great time too!
