I've at last made reached a contact at the University of Kentucky, and regarding their online photo's (most of which are absent any identifying text).

The U of K rep desires to make the editing corrections from an organized file, so that he may do updates in an systematic fashion.
He requested a spreadsheet, I've created a text file with a list of their ID #'s.

There are approximately 330 photo's throughout their system (there may be more that I've not stumbled across) .

If anybody is interested in assisting with the identifications (many of the horses and drivers will be recognizable from the 60's and 70's.

FWIW, the example link I provided (KUKAV-1997AV27-0869) is actually:
Frank Ervin and unknown trotter at DuQuoin.
1957 or 58 was the last year of soft hats, helmets were required afterwards.

great, great library.

i worked for stanley dancer and he is easily identifiable in many of these photos. billy and peter haughton, joe o'brien, herve fillion and billy herman are also easily identifiable. i believe clint galbraith is in one. i have no idea on horses or owners.

should i give you the specifics of what i know?,

Anything that anybody provides at this point will assist me in identifying photo's.
Just looking for a place to start.

I've added stanely's name (he is easily spotted in most photo's. to the ones I recognized. Even saw Vernon in one.

BTW, the photo of Ervin that i used in as an example is thefree-legged "Good Counsel" from 1956, after somebody in another forum pointed out to me that he was pacing rather trotting.
I had some 400+ photos in my archives with "Ervin" in the title. Likely have 600 or more (each) with Dancer, Haughton or OBrien. Going through such quantifies attempting to match horses is quite time consuming.
