My dad was a trainer, around Detroit. before he went to WW1. Family says
he was connected. He was injured in the War, and returned home to FL
where he owned bars and nightclubs, and ran some gambling through the state. Mother, divorced him after my birth, '37, and claims he ran houses,
"across the river."
I was not allowed to see him and only made contact before his death.
There were reports of visiting "Dark men in overcoats", before his competitions'
place was blown up! And, other occassions that indicated that he had
"friends".
Where to start on this interesting part of my heritage?
