Would not believe a word of it without independent verification. If it looks to good to be true, it ain't. Surely the stimulus is not working that well.

In 2010 the other side of the same old story:
"Of those 850,000 (new Texas) jobs, most were public-sector jobs and minimum-wage jobs."

Being one who's fully employed yet on the lookout for something better, I would tend to echo what Native 3 said. There's really not much out there to be had, even in north TX. It's just the way the current market is with the economy down for the count.

The economy is a shithole, plain and simple. YES WE CAN turned out to be YOU MADE IT WORSE.

How many of those jobs went to illegals? The last time I checked TX was second only to CA in illegals.

Robert,

Quite a few jobs have gone to illegals, has been going on for decades here.

The neighborhood I lived in 25+ yrs ago, a guy that lived across the street was a carpenter. At the time he was making $15 an hour, which in the Dallas area in 1985 or 1986 wasn't bad if you had 2 incomes at that same rate of pay. Not great by any means, but a family of 4 could be supported on that income of $30 an hour, full time.

Before I moved, his employer told him he had to take a 50% cut in pay or he'd be given a 2 week notice and a 3 week severance pay. Reason, his employer decided that hiring illegals is a lot cheaper.

Two ways to look at this...One, "those greedy businesses are taking down the middle class by hiring these illegals"....Or, Two, "Why isn't the Federal Government controlling our borders? By not doing so it's eliminating the middle class in America".

Both are to blame, but the Federal Govt is THE ONE entity that can correct the problem. They simply have chosen not to. Dem or Repub, no different result.

Did you ask that when Obama announced job creation?

So far, no one has been able to challenge the 37% figure, but lots of tries to change the subject and discredit other people.

The libs never disappoint.

CA radio stations are running ads talking about all the jobs CA is losing to TX. For some reason a lot of CA companies are also moving to Colorado Springs CO. I did jury duty with one company owner (engineering firm) who told me he was moving his business to CO.

You wanna see what the country will be like if this nonsense continues?

Take a peek at CA. State Government is in total denial. The only ones they fear are unions. They don't give a rats ass about AvgJoe because they continue to be elected.

This state is going in the toilet and they want more taxes. :bang:

How stupid can people be that they don't see the big black cloud on the horizon?

this I know...A CFO of a mid sized euro based corp that has a site in north Tx instructed its Procurement group to "be careful" with dealing with CA suppliers...(be careful means don't make me call you in for a one-on-one on this issue) New tax laws, yada yada....I looked and looked but didn't see anything that would be punitive for a buying entity, just the CA business side of the equation....yet the instructions are there
