Noticed something odd when looking at R1 from Bel Saturday. A gelding named Lubango is entered...yeah, so what?
Lubango has a knack for running on the undercard of big race days, and not running very well either. Trained by Dale Romans, Lubango has appeared on the undercards of the following big races:
Sar-7Aug 2010-Whitney day
Sar-28Aug 2010-Travers day
CD-5Nov 2010-Breeders Cup Friday
CD-7May 2011-Kentucky Derby day
And now he appears on the Belmont Stakes undercard. I suppose he just tags along with the big boys of the Romans barn (First Dude in 2010 and Shackleford in 2011).
That's it ...nothing exciting...just thought that was interesting.
