Hey Jim Thanks for the heads up..I will be looking for some value plays there.
what factors are strong there? I know I know ---use the data window...
but you are better than a data window...turf races your specialty
if you don't want to post it. You can email me...LOL

Thanks

Y'all,

I am working the Colonial meet. My only suggestion is to include heat/humidity tolerance in your handicapping.

At first post, we will be expecting 95 degrees and 40 percent humidity.

Trainers to watch: Hamilton Smith (has won with at least 1 first time starter at this meet the last 4 years..watch him in all spots)
Ferris Allen..Drops in class for a lot of wins at this meet.
Some longshot Trainers to keep an eye on are:

I'll definitely be playing the Colonial meet. Great turf course, full fields, a post time that works well for me and lots of bombs.

Getting really tired of those 5 horse fields at Belmont.

Colonial really, really, really, really, REALLY needs to be showing replays on its website.

Preferably as NYRA does, through high-quality pan & head-on shots.

In fact, every track needs to be following NYRA's lead in this area, and when was the last time you could say THAT about NYRA?

Its amazing the NYRA does that. Too bad they can't be like other tracks and actually show the horse in the post parades and not the lead pony!! :bang:

Is that the reason for the rush to post 2-3 minutes before send off ?

Also who does the ML ? I last played Colonial 10-12 years ago,

I am not sure if the the short post parades were weather related of opening day kinks. It is suppose to be 100 degrees tomorrow so we will see.

Keith F. - the Equibase chart caller - is the morning line maker. Keith has a tough task of making a line on 14-horse fields with runners with inconsistent running lines.

Keith is a good guy trying to do his best with the line for the bettors.

how was the track playing today ? Usually closers are deadly (especially at 2 turns) at the beginning of the meet. 3 or 4 weeks in, the speed started carrying.
