Interesting to see Jon Stewart interview Bill Moyers.

I'm about 1/2 through the first segment and Moyers is talking about why he doesn't like to interview politicians. He prefers to interview people who want to reveal the truth. He says the problem with politicians is that their language is designed to deceive and conceal the truth and hide their intentions. Politicians don't want people to know what they think.

He says the reason Newt Gingrich got in trouble recently is because Newt told the truth.

This makes me think back to the Obama and Hillary Clinton interviews on 60 Minutes before the election. Hillary gave precise answers about her policies on various topics. Obama gave good answers, but nothing concrete. He didn't actually tell you what he would do. I thought that he was the better politician and that he was a bit more shrewd than Hillary, but I didn't know whether he would be better or worse than Hillary. I find that Obama has a fairly easy time navigating the waters, but I don't always like the outcome he achieves.

In any case, it's a decent interview.
