Santa Anita picks for Saturday:
R1 - #1 Silent Kingdom-Makes the key drop into MCL for the first time. Couldn’t have found a much weaker field than this.
R2 – Moisuisatoi-Was last route race a prep for this sprint? Came up empty last time off a 2.5 year layoff. Well bred horse showed promise as a 2/3 yo. Been drilling regularly since last. Price play here.
R3 - #3 Gassan Rock-Think this one can run some. Comes out of mdn race that’s produced several next out winners. Went wide on the turn in that one and still ran well. Mitchell does well with the sprint/route move also.
R4 - #1 Dr. Dubai-Good work by trainer Garcia on this horse. He is certainly bred to like the turf, and should get a good trip from this post with his running style.
R5 - #1 CR Proud Count-See a much easier time on the front end for this one. Can see this one opening up and not looking back.
R6 - #11 Dixie Law-Ran against some hard knockers at the bullring. Both lifetime turf wins come at SA.
R7 - #4 Jimmy’s Instinct-Didn’t strut his best stuff last time. Spawr good with 2nd time out horses. Smith stays.
R8 - #3 Presumption- Had trouble in last two. Bred for the turf, and this is a longshot trainer. Don’t think I’ll have to worry much about price.
R9 - #12 Cobblestone-Another longshot here. Bad post, but this is his first try against mcl horses this cheap. Might have to gun for lead and hang on for dear life. But at 30/1 it’s worth a shot.
