Excerpt:

While Repole felt it was inappropriate to respond to the comments during the Kentucky Derby, he felt free to sound off against it in the finale of a blog series he wrote for the Blood-Horse. "My suggestion is that next year he should change it to a 10-second rule, or simply adjust his sunglasses and not say anything at all."

And another bit, from the original post:

But his comments on Mo's health were totally out of line and I would expect more from a Hall of Fame trainer that I respect. I would never sacrifice a horse's health for my ego. The next time I see Baffert it will be at Saratoga. I will say hello to him from the winner's circle, as he picks up his horse and walks back to the barn.

I guess this means Mr. Repole has no interest in being in the Hall himself?

This from the guy who boasted how much he was going to bet on his horse in the Derby and scratched that horse days later. Perhaps he should follow his own advice.

Repole is really headed in the wrong direction. Sometimes when someone like him is rich and powerful there is nobody around him that has the guts to tell him that he should take a break and rethink his latest comments and actions.

I didn't see anything wrong with Bafferts comments given the fact that Repole came out publicly and said he would make Uncle Mo the favorite.

He certainly came off as pretty much a dolt.
Shut up and let your horse to the talking.
Maybe Repole would be better suited to a spot at Caroline's.

In all my years of reading trainers comments after a race, did not anyone else think it was odd that Pletcher commented on MO's odds after the Wood? Baffert maybe got caught thinking out loud again?

I'm no Baffertarian, but Repole should thank his stars for the East Coast bias.

Yeah, but only Baffert can actually be entertaining and funny.

Repole is becoming the next Iavarone. All talk and no class. Like a poster said earlier let your horses do the talking and you shut up nobody wants to hear you talking.

the thing about Iavarone is, people didn't like how he got his money. that was his big deal. the way he dealt with big brown himself was almost flawless. He wasn't a jerk or anything.
