Fastest close since...?

Prolly since Street Sense. Using my own methodology (beaten lengths, 7 leng/second) I figure AKingdom finished in 24.1 which is very fast even given the slowish pace. I get 24.8 for Nehro and 24.6 or so for Macho. I dont have a number for SS but I know he was extremely fast in closing; I seem to recall he was maybe 24.1?? Afleet Alex was prolly even faster closer over his career, but not this fast in the derby.

NOTE: my own methodology is often at variance with other people on this board, but at least the error seems consistent so might be useful in making comparisons to historical derby races.

He closed in roughly :24.05.

apologies for missing out on MTB, I have not kept records the last couple years.

Another historical issue which I am dimly aware of is "passing the leader inside the 1/8 pole" which I know doesnt happen often may a couple of times in the last 30 years?? (not sure) but looked like AK passed the leader just about at that pt. He was moving so fast at that pt. no one was going to catch him today..
