3YO-Funny Cide
3YO Filly-Bird Town
2YO Colt-Chapel Royal (Never off the board this year despite "distance limitations")

Male Turf-High Chapparal (When a horse wins while carrying 139 pounds, it's an achievement)
Female Turf-Tates Creek (Throw out the F + M Turf, she's incredibly consistent)

Here we go, trying to think outside the box.

Horse of the Year: Halfbridled, by default. Close second choice is High Chaparral.
Older Male: Mineshaft
Older Female: Azeri
2 yr old Colt: leaning to Action This Day, but still some racing to come.
2 yr old Filly: Halfbridled
3 yr old: Funny Cide
3 yr old filly: Six Perfections- beat the boys twice, and elders too.
Turf Male: High Chaparral
Turf Female: Six Perfections. Islington is second choice, only because her wins were against F&M's.
Sprinter: Aldebaran

Can I change my 3yo filly vote? Six Perfections for me, forgot she was 3!

Here's mine:

HOY: Mineshaft
Older male: Mineshaft
Older mares: Azeri
3 YO: Empire Maker
3 YOF: Elloluv; 1 race in North America isn't enough (Six Perfections)
2 YO: this is the toughest; maybe Cuvee since he accomplished the most, or even the Oak Tree winner. Best 2YOs? Maybe Silver Wagon or Eurosilver
2YO F: Halfbridled
Male turf: Storming Home; he accomplished the most all year
F/M Turf: Heat Haze
Sprinter: Shake You Down

The titles are based on best for the year, not one day.

Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. It's all subjective. As teeitup pointed out, Anees won off of a maiden win and a BC win.

Same goes for trainer this year. Everyone will say Frankel, but maybe Mandella did enough to overtake him.

It's just my interpretation. Anees may have won, but IMO, he shouldn't have; and not because he was a bust as a 3YO. Trainer? I still have to give the award to Frankel. A guy sets the record for Grade 1 wins and doesn't win it? That seems insane. Sure Josh Beckett was impressive in the post season but does he merit the Cy Young award? No way. The voters have very brief memories and tend to forget everything that happened before the Breeders Cup.

Now after the Matriarch win, I think Heat Haze now has to be favored to win the filly/mare grass Eclipse. To question she accomplished the most all year
