The Arab world would have looked at them and seen them in the same light they see many other atrocities in that region, (eg. beheadings, suicide bombers, killed fighters). They are not unaccustomed to viewing sordid photos.

1. many Muslims do not believe bin Laden was killed in Pakistan.
2. many Muslims believe the event was "staged" as bin Laden died years ago.

Also by saying, the photos are not being released to
1. avoid putting American soldiers and others in harms way
2. they would offend Muslim sensitivities about one of theirs and create a dangerous series of uprisings
"presensitizes" the mindsets of those people to doing just that if the photos are released now.

So that means that the photos can't be released now because suggestions have been given as to how they will be responded to. (Sort of a Mesmer type suggestion has been sewn by the White House.)

Chances are the photos will be "leaked" down the road.
Then of course the probabilities of hell breaking loose are reasonable. They've been presensitized and suggested to on how to react.

Of course, photos of the Kennedy brothers were all over the newspapers when they were assassinated. Photos of people perishing on the roof of the

I've been thinking about the issue of " the photos" of the assassinated OBL for several days. In the end, I side with the President for not publishing them, due to the security concerns in the future for Americans and perhaps others. Even Cheney on FNS, just said that he " doesn't have an opinion one way or the other" on that decision.

However, I presume and believe that he has iron clad DNA evidence, video, etc. of the entire operation, which all would agree was first rate. Also, I also do not side with those who say that the Seals did not have to kill him under the circumstances they found themselves in. He was a wanted terrorist responsible for mass murder of thousands, among other egregious acts. Tough ****ing luck!

Finally, although I have some background in some enforcement areas, but certainly not intelligence, I don't presume to know exactly what to do/ say in all of these policy areas. But, I would give this short piece of advice:

Certainly, no more than the President outlined in his first statement on the matter.
