View Full Version : Repole's "large wager" on Uncle Mo

Repole says he will make Mo the favorite. He obviously has enough money to do so. This leads me to ask, if Repole bets on Uncle Mo, he will be 'betting against' Stay Thirsty and if he's betting against Stay Thirsty, is that 'allowed'?

I don't know racing rules or federal law when it comes to owners betting against themselves, but unless Repole wagers the exact same amount on both horses, he's 'betting against' himself, no?

This never used to be a problem, but now, with horses from same owner being uncoupled, we have to address this.

Conflict of interest? What say you.

Why are they uncoupled?

But his wager is not on an opposing horse. He is still betting on his personal property. I would see it as no violation whatsoever.

Seriously, do you search for things to be mad about?

Actually, I think he is on to something here.
Technically, he IS betting against himself.

Yes they are uncoupled as was Westside Bernie and Atomic Rain 2 years ago.

I took Mr. Repole's comment as pure sarcasm/joking.

Sounds like an avenue for cheating that needs to be reviewed, IMHO.
What's the downside of due diligence in the betting pools?

Hope this guy sends it in on either, or both, of his horses on Saturday.
I doubt that they will win, so it makes betting the race more attractive to me.

We'll see if he actually does........

When the show pool on the Wood Memorial opened up with $300k - do you think that was Repole's money.

Yes.....let's hope Uncle Mo actually runs and Mikey and the masses bet him with both hands.....better odds for the rest of us.
