Okay so I'm sitting here playing hollywood park and I like the 7 horse in the 3rd race, but I really can't toss the fav either or the horse that eventually won the 10. Then I get the passing idea hey why not place a show wager (he did come in 3rd). Then I realized just how lousy the odds were on the horse to show and I passed. Then I got to thinking about this...

okay, you have less money in the pool, but unlike supers and tris and pick 6's and stuff, more people are going to hit it. So I am wondering, why isn't takeout on place and show wagering progressively lower? I mean, this is not one track this is pretty standard stuff. Why are you charging me the same 15% takeout, when more people are going to be able to cash because there are 3 winners in the race in a show pool, we are going to split less money, yet you still get your 15%. That seems like a pretty raw deal to me.

On top of that, you get destroyed in breakage. A 2.39 show price gets rounded down to 2.20

Knowing what you know your epiphany should have been:
"Playing show is a losing way to go." ;)
