I know this isn't new, but I'm getting a good laugh out of this. Thought I'd share

Under UK rules, that would be an automatic 3 week vacation and they mean it over there, unlike here where they probably get a lawyer to get a judge to overturn it.

Wow that's crazy.

There was one at Arlington last summer where the race was a mile and an eighth where the regular finish line is used. The rider must've thought the race was 1 1/16 mile where the alternate finish line is before the real finish line. He stood up and got caught by the real finish and finished 2nd. The form says "Rider misjudged finish".

It happens from time to time. It even happened in the Kentucky Derby once.

That was Micheal Baze.

happened to me at Philly Park a few years ago, my horse had a 5 length lead down the stretch and the jock stood up at the 1/8th pole. He still almost won just jogging it out but got passed just before the line. What a sick feeling that was.
