I'm writing this at 8am Saturday morning, 2 hours before the first BC race.
I would not be concerned about the weather as of now. We have a slight on-short breeze and it is cool. From my vantage point 4 miles west of the track, there is a large wall of smoke that appears to be clearly east of the track. (This is the effect of the on-shore breeze. The fire is 40 miles east of the track.)
The "Santa Ana" condition that was forecasted to occur is now not expected to happen until this evening, so I would guess that it will be a nice day at Santa Anita.
If the situation changes, I will post an update.
